RULES & REGULATIONS

GENERAL RULES & REGULATIONS

  • Video taping of your team only is allowed, but please be respectful of the judges’ area & those around you.
  • General sportsmanship rules as outlined by the NFHS Spirit Rule Book & USASF Membership Code of Conduct is expected at all times.
  • NO Carry-in food or drink. Concessions will be open.
  • Personal items are subject to search for attendee and athlete safety.
  • The event will not be cancelled due to weather.
  • All Star teams DO NOT need to be registered members of USASF to compete at our events.
  • To ensure a safe and hygienic event, shoes are required for ALL athletes competing as a team or for a solo/small group performance when not performing. Footwear while performing as a team and/or during the solo/small group performance is determined by NFHS (scholastic/rec teams) and USASF (all stars).
  • Please remember that all music, choreography and costuming should be age appropriate and also appropriate for family viewing.​

All Star Competition Basics

  • All Star teams should follow rules as described by USASF, any further rules/exceptions are explained below.

Cheer Teams, Solos, & Stunt Groups

  • All star cheer teams will compete on a full 54’ x 42’ spring floor.
  • Team routines have a 2:30 minute maximum performance length.
  • Prep teams have a 2:00 minute maximum performance length.
  • Tiny Novice (Previously Pre-Team Exhibition) has a 1:30 minute maximum performance length.
  • Stunt Groups have a 1:00 minute maximum routine while solos have a 1:30 minute maximum routine time.
  • A reminder, that while The BOW Tour events do not have a minimum performance time, other competitions may have an established minimum performance time.

Dance Teams, Solos, & Ensembles

  • All dance teams will compete on a 50′ x 50′ Marley floor.
  • Team routines have a 2:30 minutes maximum performance length
  • Teams may perform in multiple styles, but may not have athletes that preform on both a prep and non-prep team of the same time.
  • A reminder, that while The BOW Tour event do not have a minimum performance time, other competitions may have an established minimum performance time including USASF which has a 1:45 minute minimum performance time.

USASF Policies & Guidelines

  • All Star teams must comply with all USASF rules and policies, however you do not need to be a registered member of USASF to compete at this year’s event.

Scholastic Competition Basics

Cheer Teams, Solos, & Stunt Groups

  • Scholastic and rec cheer teams will compete on a full 54′ x 42′ dead floor.
  • Team routines have a 2:30 minute maximum for stunting & non-stunting. Cheer Dance has a maximum of a 1:30 minute routine length. There is no minimum time.
  • Stunt Groups have a 1:00 minute maximum routine time while solos have a 1:30 minute maximum routine time.

  • Cheer divisions will not be broken out by school size, only by age and team size.

Dance Teams, Solos, Duets & Ensembles

  • Dance teams will compete on a 50′ x 50′ Marley floor.
  • Teams have a 2:30 minute maximum performance length.
  • Teams may perform in up to 4 different styles. Styles & divisions will be based of WACPC divisions & styles.
  • Solos, duets, & ensembles will have a 1:30 minute maximum performance length.​
